Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and optimization of DSP algorithms for advanced integrated circuit solutions. In addition to DSP expertise, proficiency in digital IC design tools and implementation techniques is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Algorithm Development: Develop and optimize DSP algorithms for applications such as wireless communication, ADPLL, audio processing, biomedical processing, and other signal processing tasks.
- Digital IC Design: Implement DSP algorithms in hardware using digital IC design techniques, including RTL coding, synthesis, and timing analysis.
- Simulation and Verification: Perform functional simulation and verification of DSP designs to ensure accuracy and performance and develop test benches and test cases for block-level functional verification.
- System Integration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Analog, RF) to integrate DSP blocks into larger system-on-chip (SoC) designs, ensuring seamless functionality and performance.
- Optimization: Optimize DSP implementations for power, performance, and area (PPA) constraints.
- Prototyping and Testing: Develop FPGA prototypes and conduct lab testing to validate DSP designs.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive design documentation, including specifications, design reviews, verification plans, and test reports.
- Project Leadership: Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in DSP and digital IC design, contributing innovative solutions to enhance product capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Experience: PhD with a minimum of 5 years or MSc with a minimum of 8 years of experience in DSP algorithm development and digital IC design.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in DSP algorithm development and optimization.
- Strong knowledge of digital IC design tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics).
- Expertise in digital design languages (VHDL, Verilog) and hardware description languages Simulink signal processing and HDL tools.
- Strong programming and scripting skills: MATLAB, C/C++ or Python.
- Experience with synthesis, static timing analysis, and formal verification.
- Familiarity with FPGA prototyping and lab testing.
- Understanding of low-power design techniques and PPA optimization.
- Understanding of ASIC test methodologies such as scan insertion, memory BIST, and test pattern generation.
- Good knowledge of digital design flow from architecture design to sign-off.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
- Communication: Good communication, reporting, and presentation skills in English.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills in guiding technical teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving project outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mixed-signal SoC design and integration.
- Knowledge of advanced signal processing techniques and architectures.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for test (DFT) principles.
- Good knowledge of MCU peripherals (SPI, I2C, GPIO, ADC, Non-Volatile Memory, etc.) is a plus.
- Publications or patents in the field digital signal processing or digital IC design.
