Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Digital IC Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced digital integrated circuits. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the design, implementation, and optimization of digital ICs for various applications, ensuring high performance, reliability, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Leadership: Lead the design and development of complex digital ICs, from concept through to production.
- Architecture Development: Define and develop digital architectures that meet performance, power, and area requirements for various applications.
- RTL Coding: Write and review high-quality RTL code using Verilog or SystemVerilog, ensuring design specifications are met.
- Verification: Develop and execute comprehensive verification plans, using simulation and formal verification techniques to ensure design correctness.
- Synthesis and Timing Analysis: Conduct synthesis and static timing analysis, optimizing designs for performance, power, and area.
- Physical Design: Work closely with physical design teams on place-and-route (P&R), ensuring successful implementation of digital blocks.
- DFT Implementation: Integrate design-for-test (DFT) features to ensure testability and manufacturability of digital ICs.
- Power Optimization: Implement power optimization techniques, including clock gating, power gating, and multi-voltage domains.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed design documentation, including specifications, design reviews, verification plans, and test reports.
- Project Management: Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of industry trends and technological advancements, driving innovation in digital IC design.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: PhD with 0-2 years or MSc with a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in digital IC design.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in digital design languages (Verilog, SystemVerilog).
- Expertise in digital design methodologies, including RTL coding, synthesis, static timing analysis, and formal verification.
- Strong understanding of physical design, including place-and-route (P&R) and DFT techniques.
- Experience with power optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics).
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to analyze complex technical issues.
- Communication: Strong communication, reporting, and presentation skills in English.
- Leadership: Proven leadership skills in guiding technical teams, mentoring junior engineers, and driving project outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with mixed-signal SoC design and integration.
- Knowledge of high-speed interface protocols (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet).
- Experience with implementing high-speed (10G+) Ethernet PHY and MAC layers.
- Experience with Sync-E and PTP protocols for 10G+ Ethernet.
- Familiarity with advanced process technologies (e.g., FinFET, FDSOI).
- Familiarity with embedded MCU (ARM/RISC-V) architectures.
- Familiarity with communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, and USB.
- Familiarity with Digital CDR and 10G+ SerDes architectures is is a big plus.
